Help Us Protect Africa’s Great Apes!

The Apes Reporting Project is seeking two passionate, driven interns to join our team and help secure the future of primate conservation in Africa through powerful storytelling and strategic growth. Please note that these internships are volunteer positions.

We are seeking interns in:

· Proposal Writing

· Fundraising and Partnerships

The Role: You will work remotely and report directly to our Strategy and Communications Manager based in Nairobi. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international conservation, environmental journalism, and non-profit development.

Who we’re looking for:

· Strong writers with an interest in wildlife conservation issues.

· Creative thinkers who want to learn the behind-the-scenes of NGO sustainability.

· Individuals eager to help indigenous voices and African Great Apes conservation stories reach a global audience.

The Apes Reporting Project utilizes innovative journalism techniques to champion the conservation of Africa’s Great Apes and their habitats through storytelling. It is an initiative of Water Journalists Africa, a non-profit media development organization with a membership of 3,000 journalists spanning 50 African countries. The Apes Reporting Project is a sister initiative to InfoNile, which focuses on geojournalism and cross-border environmental collaborations in the Nile basin. InfoNile operates Nilewell, a platform that facilitates collaboration among environmental researchers, scientists, and journalists.
